Q5. Do mouthwashes cause cancer?
A5. This was reported in the media in January 2009 in which research findings stated that there was a link between alcohol mouthwashes and mouth cancer. However, this is still inconclusive. The British Dental Association has stated that there are other factors to consider which may cause an increased risk and that mouthwash is still safe to use.
If you are worried about this issue then choose a non-alcohol based mouthwash.
