How do I find a full mouth reconstruction cosmetic dentist?

It is important that you find a well qualified and reputable dentist to undertake what is an extensive programme of treatment.

There are thousands of cosmetic dentists but it is vital that you find one that you trust and feel a rapport with. This is especially important when you think you are going to be entering into a long period of treatment! This treatment can take up to a year or more so you need to find someone who has the skill and experience to do this work and you can relate to.

So, where are good places to start? The internet is a popular option as there are thousands of websites dedicated to cosmetic dentistry. A great many of these will have useful advice on finding a dentist plus a list of dentists in your area.

A couple of good websites are Cosmetic Dentist (www.cosmeticdentist.co.uk) and Cosmetic Dentistry Guide (www.cosmeticdentistryguide.co.uk). These have plenty of information about dental procedures and how to find a dentist.

Also related to this is the fact of the dentist being a member of an accredited organisation. The British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, The British Dental Association, The General Dental Council and The British Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons are all well respected organisations.

If your dentist is a member of one of these then you can be assured that he or she is highly skilled and experienced. When you visit a dentist ask to see any proof of membership of one of these organisations.

If a friend or member of your family has undergone this treatment then they will be able to recommend a dentist to you. Your own dentist may be qualified enough to undertake this but much of this falls into the area of cosmetic dentistry or neuromuscular dentistry which is specialist work.

When you do find a suitable dentist then it can help to have a list of questions already prepared before going to meet him/her.
