Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion is a non surgical skin smoothening therapy that's rapidly becoming popular. This superficial peel is generally used for the treatment of fine lines, wrinkles, and slight pigmentation.

Microdermabrasion is a skin revitalizing technique that makes use of exfoliation procedures to lessen the appearance of wrinkles, lines, and scars. It can also be used for the treatment of acne, scarring, erasing of stretch marks, and rejuvenation of sun damaged skin. It takes very little time to perform, and involves very little discomfort. It involves a brief recovery period, and is often used to complement other skin programs. Microdermabrasion involves a gentle peeling of the skin that is very effective, but not harsh on the skin. You will notice smoother, younger looking skin, including a marked difference in your skin tone and texture.

Procedure
Microdermabrasion makes use of fine Aluminum oxide particles to eliminate dead cells from skin. These particles also stimulate the creation of new collagen, and gently exfoliate the skin to remove dead cells. Microdermabrasion is sometimes also known as sand blasting.

The system makes use of a high power vacuum and filter mechanism. The aluminum oxide particles are self contained, and untouched by human hands before they are introduced on your skin. The air that is used to blast the particles undergoes special antibacterial purification through a filter. There is very little risk of clogging of the skin, because the system uses a vacuum instead of forcing the particles on your skin with blasts of air.

Microdermabrasion is typically conducted over a series of about 5 sessions. Each session has a time gap of between 1 and 2 weeks before the next. Each session can take between 20 to 30 minutes, depending on the kind of results you wish. You may require additional sessions to maintain the results of the procedure.
