What will happen after my nose reshaping surgery (rhinoplasty)?

You can expect your nose to ache and your face will feel swollen and ‘puffy’. You will notice that your eyes appear bruised and swollen but this will ease after two to three weeks.

You will be given pain relief to deal with this.

You may notice a small amount of bleeding after your surgery. Don’t worry, this is entirely normal and will cease. Do not blow your nose for a week or so to allow the soft tissues to heal.

Before you leave hospital you will be given the date and time of your first aftercare check up.

After a week your splint and dressings will be removed.
