Q6. What are the symptoms of varicose veins?

A6. Some people are fortunate enough not to experience any symptoms but others are not. They report a burning, aching pain in their legs which feel heavy and uncomfortable.

The ankles and feel swell and the veins become knotted and bulge against the skin. They are dark blue or purple in colour and twist underneath the skin.

The skin around the affected area of the legs feels tight, itchy and dry.

These symptoms will come and go depending on whether you are sat down, lying down or stood up on your feet.
