Q8. What is the treatment for varicose veins?

A8. There is a variety of treatment available which ranges from simple, self-help steps you can do at home through to innovative procedures such as endovenous laser treatment.

In some cases wearing compression stockings will ease any of these symptoms. Others may find that losing weight and taking some form of exercise helps.

There are non-surgical treatments available which include sclerotherapy and coil embolisation.

Serious cases may require vein ligation and stripping or radiofrequency ablation.
