ZOVIRAX

Drug name: Acyclovir (Aciclovir)

Brand name: Zovirax

Use: Herpes antiviral

Zovirax is used to treat recurrences of herpes simplex virus infection (including genital herpes, shingles and chickenpox). It reduces the length and severity of an attack, but does not eradicate the infection.

Cautions:

- kidney impairment
- liver impairment
- dehydration
- pregnancy and breastfeeding

Side effects:

- nausea, vomiting, headache, GI upset, fatigue, rash, liver/blood/kidney problems.
