What questions should I ask the Infertility specialist?

If you visit our section of finding a clinic you will find a list of suggested questions to ask a fertility specialist.

And we would advise writing these down before you visit a clinic so that you don’t forget to ask something which could be vitally important later on.

But, in order to help we have listed a few useful questions:

• What are your success rates? (this applies to all forms of treatment)
• What are your opening times?
• Do I always see the fertility specialist or will I see someone else?
• What is your level of experience and how many years have you been carrying out this treatment?
• What are your qualifications?
• Do you offer counselling or other forms of support?
• How much does treatment cost? Can I have a breakdown of the costs?

It’s a good idea to draw up a shortlist of a few ‘possibles’ and visit each one of these in turn. If you are not happy with the answers you are given or feel that the specialist is less than sympathetic then go somewhere else.
