Does infertility treatment hurt?
All treatment has side effects which may include pain and discomfort. If this is the case you will be given painkillers to control any pain.
What many couples find is that treatment can be emotionally painful. As well as the physical demands of the treatment cycles which also have side effects there are the emotional aspects to deal with.
Your specialist will discuss all aspects of your treatment with you which includes the risks as well as the benefits. He or she will advise you to see counselling which the clinic should provide and to talk to others in a similar situation.
