MEDIC8 HEALTH GUIDE: INFERTILITY
Becoming pregnant may sound relatively straightforward thing, but the reality can be somewhat different. There are many couples who are trying for a baby but, for what ever reason, are unable to conceive.
This inability to become pregnant is known as ‘infertility’.
Medical experts report that as many as 1 in 6 couples seek help for infertility problems. However, many of those couples report feelings of isolation, depression and frustration which are not always taken into account.
Infertility is a physiological problem but the emotional aspects cannot be underestimated. The stress of trying to conceive combined with pressures from family and friends however well meant can become unbearable. And in some cases it can even cause the relationship to break down.
So what is infertility? What are the causes of infertility? What is male infertility? What treatments are available? How successful is IVF? Are there any alternative remedies?
These are just some of the many questions people have about infertility.
