Q30. Is there an alternative to a vasectomy?

A30. If you are not suitable for a vasectomy or decide that you don’t want surgery then your options are:

  • Long term contraception such as an intra-uterine device (IUD)
  • Your partner undergoes a tubal ligation
  • Hormonal implants (woman)
  • Condoms

A combination of different forms of contraception works best.
