Q10. Can I have a vasectomy on the NHS?

A10. Yes. Speak to your GP about having a vasectomy on the NHS as he/she will be able to discuss this with you before refer you for surgery. This means joining a waiting list and the length of this will vary according to what part of the country you live in.

Once you arrive at the top of that list you will be given appointment with a vasectomy surgeon. You then meet with him or her to discuss your surgery in an initial consultation.

You do have the option of ‘going private’for your vasectomy.
