Anthisan cream
Anthisan cream is an antihistamine.
The active ingredient in anthisan is mepyramine maleate which blocks histamine H1 receptors to decrease histamine release. In this way it lessens the weal and itch associated with nettle rashes and insect bites.

- Nettle rash
- Reactions to insect bites and stings
Side-effects
Side effects of anthisan are not common.
Possible side-effects include skin irritation, sensitisation and allergic reaction.
Contraindications
Anthisan cream should not to be used in:
- broken skin or open wounds
- eczema
- sunburn
There is no specific safety information on the use of this medicine in pregnancy, but it is generally accepted to be safe.
Anthisan cream is for external use only.
