Imuran
Imuran, the brand name, along with the common name, azathioprine, is a prescription drug in Canada. It is used in the treatment of Crohn's disease as well as other conditions. Azathioprine was originally developed to prevent rejection in kidney transplants. Azathioprine belongs in the immunosuppressive agents category. That is, it lowers the level of your body's ability to fight infections. Cuts, bruises, colds, fevers and sickness' take longer to heal when taking azathioprine.
