What is infertility?

Infertility is defined as an ability to conceive after 1 year of unprotected sex. This is reduced to 6 months for women over the age of 35.

There are 2 types of infertility:

  • Primary: this refers to women who have never been pregnant.
  • Secondary: this refers to women who have been pregnant before but are unable to conceive now.

If a woman experiences two miscarriages or more then she is said to be infertile.
