Can a reverse vasectomy help me to become fertile?

This is also known as a vasovasostomy. It is surgery undertaken to unblock (or reconnect) the vas deferens (tubes which carry sperm) so that sperm can travel from your testicles to your penis. And this will hopefully, restore your fertility.

So the answer is yes, but, there is no guarantee of this happening as the success rate from this surgery is quite low. And the longer the period between the original vasectomy and this reversal procedure the lower the success rate.

The success rate is higher in men who have this carried out within 5 years of the original vasectomy.

Another factor to consider is cost: it is unlikely that the NHS will pay for this so you are looking at private treatment which can cost as much as £3,000.
