Trials for a new cancer<\/a> drug have proved positive in the treatment of pain and deterioration caused by prostate cancer.<\/p>\n

The drug Zytiga is in phase 3 of the study and has been found to improve the quality of life for patients suffering with an advanced stage of the disease. The drug was so effective, that those participants in the trial who were taking the placebo were switched to Zytiga to also reap the benefits.<\/p>\n

It was noted that the drug delayed the onset of pain and deterioration of the patient, which allowed them to continue with a normal day-to-day life.<\/p>\n

The principal investigator on the trial, Charles J. Ryan, MD, had this to say on the study, \u201cThis drug extended lives and gave patients more time when they weren\u2019t experiencing significant pain from the disease.\u201d<\/p>\n

It is hoped further study will back up these recent findings, so prostrate cancer sufferers can fully experience their lives free of pain and other cancer related problems.<\/p>\n
