Experts believe the global expansion of cosmetic surgery<\/a> will continue this year with growth expected to be around 10%.<\/p>\n

Last year the industry reached a record $6 billion (about \u00a33.75 billion) with surgical procedures such as liposuction<\/a> and non-invasive procedures topping the bill.<\/p>\n

This year the growth is thought to reach around $7 billion. Asia is showing the strongest growth at about 14% where nose jobs and eyelid surgery are the most popular treatments.<\/p>\n

In Europe, despite the economic problems faced by many people, plastic surgery procedures are still expected to increase by 6.6%. Whether this is sustainable in 2014 is doubtful, unless the economic situation facing the Eurozone improves.<\/p>\n

Moreover, last year saw a scandal over breast implants<\/a> with many women in Britain being forced to have the PIP implant removed over fears of associated problems. While the NHS did offer to remove them they would not pay for new ones to be inserted.<\/p>\n

One area which is expected to grow is anti-aging treatments for over 50\u2019s and breast augmentation is expected to recover at some point during the year.<\/p>\n
