{"id":2802,"date":"2014-04-28T11:28:35","date_gmt":"2014-04-28T11:28:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.medic8.com\/news\/?p=2802"},"modified":"2014-04-30T10:43:35","modified_gmt":"2014-04-30T10:43:35","slug":"model-decides-against-abortion-after-feeling-her-baby-kick-5973","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.medic8.com\/news\/model-decides-against-abortion-after-feeling-her-baby-kick-5973\/","title":{"rendered":"Model Decides Against Abortion After Baby&#8217;s First Kicks -8622"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Questions about the reasons as to why women may choose to have abortions have been a huge point of discussion recently after decisions made by an aspiring model.<\/p>\n<p>Budding glamour model Josie Cunningham publicly stated her plans to have a termination so that she could be a contestant on Channel 5\u2019s hit TV show,<em> Big Brother<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>As expected, this statement caused great consternation and widespread discussion not only over the model herself, but about the reasons why pregnant women may choose to have an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.medic8.com\/healthguide\/abortion\/index.html\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"2\" title=\"abortion\">abortion<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Josie Cunningham rose to fame last year when she underwent breast enlargement surgery at the expense of the NHS, costing nearly \u00a35,000, in order to enhance her glamour modelling career.<\/p>\n<p>However, after falling pregnant, her ambitions were temporarily put on hold.<\/p>\n<p>Josie came to the decision that she would have an abortion in order to pursue her career.<\/p>\n<p>However, during the 19th week of her <a href=\"https:\/\/www.medic8.com\/healthguide\/pregnancyindex.htm\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"63\" title=\"pregnancy\">pregnancy<\/a>, she felt the kicks of her baby, which made her think twice about the decision she\u2019d previously come to.<\/p>\n<p>The mum-of-two told reporters that the moment she felt her baby kicking, it reminded her of what it feels like to be pregnant.<\/p>\n<p>Josie was vilified in the press and by the population at large for her original decision.<\/p>\n<p>Josie&#8217;s situation has spurred controversial debates among the public, with many questioning which is more important, a family or a career?<\/p>\n<p>This sort of question isn&#8217;t new; and many hold the view that women should be able to make their own decisions about both their lives and their bodies.<\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, there are many people who feel that abortion isn&#8217;t the right option and that women who aren\u2019t ready for children should look into adoption instead.<\/p>\n<p>The pro-life vs. pro-choice debate has always been a controversial topic, and Josie\u2019s story has sparked yet more disagreement with regards to the subject.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Questions about the reasons as to why women may choose to have abortions have been a huge point of discussion recently after decisions made by an aspiring model.
