Is There A New Trend In Plastic Surgery?-3500

Going under the knife has grown in popularity over the last few decades, not just in Britain and the USA, but across the globe.

There are also some suggestions that another trend is growing, namely mothers and daughters getting work done at the same time.

While this ‘power-bonding’ as it is apparently called is well known in many areas of life such as shopping, it is perhaps a new trend when it comes to cosmetic surgery.

The idea came to light when a mother and daughter were interviewed on a USA broadcasting news channel. This revealed that they both went together to get a number of surgical procedures including neck tuck, cheek fillers, breast lift and tummy tuck.

There is a suggestion that the rise in power-bonding may have something to do with the popular reality TV programme called Real Wives of Orange County which focuses on the rich wives of rich husband in the wealthy area of Los Angeles, California.

Speaking to reporters, one cosmetic surgeon has said this tendency is on the rise as he has treated mother-daughter pairs. He said: “I love it… the patients who start with a supportive relationship, they really help each other and I welcome that.”

In other news, one celebrity believes that it is possible to get too carried away with having any form of cosmetic procedure. Hollywood actress, Heidi Montag said she went over the top in going under the knife. In 2010 she underwent no fewer than 11 procedures.

She told reporters: “When you have someone say, ‘It’s gonna be great’, then you really think it’s gonna be great. My nose was broken so I had to get it re-done, and I was like, ‘Well, while I’m there, what else?’ And then I kinda wanted a few enhancements and then it got outta hand.

Heidi added: “I should have researched it more and I wasn’t really told the repercussions and what would happen emotionally and physically and how much pain I’d be in.”

Many people undergoing cosmetic surgery procedures do so to improve a part of their body they dislike and to improve their confidence. However what is often forgotten is that plastic surgery is a medical procedure and can be painful at times.
