Q8. What is e coli?

A8. E coli or ‘escherichia coli’ is a type of bacteria which is found within the digestive system of animals and humans. There are several strains of this bacteria but the one which is particularly harmful to humans is the E0157:H7 strain.

It develops after eating undercooked meat, unwashed vegetables or drinking milk which has not been pasteurised.
