Q12. Is Botox effective at treating excessive sweating?

A12. It is a solution to the problem of excessive sweating. It is more commonly used as a cosmetic procedure to smooth out frown lines and wrinkles but has now been used for hyperhidrosis purposes.

This toxin is injected into the affected areas which prevent signals from the brain reaching the sweat glands. This then prevents excessive sweating for a certain period of time.

But this treatment needs to be repeated every 4 months to continue with the results.
