What are photoaggravated dermatoses?

Photoaggravated dermatoses are exacerbations of any conditions which you may already have. Generally, they can be summarised into a few categories:

  • Eczemas, which are diseases where the top layer of skin (the epidermis) becomes inflamed. This group includes: atopic eczema, lichen planus, psoriasis
  • Collagen vascular diseases, which includes lupus erythematosus and dermatomyositis
  • Others, such as actinic folliculitis, disseminated superficial actinic porokeratosis
