Q23. What causes acne scars?

A23. These are usually caused by a severe form of acne or by squeezing pimples.

A severe form of acne appears as a series of pus filled sores which can spread and damage the surrounding skin. The end result of this is scarring.

Picking or squeezing spots will also leave a scar.
