Q9. What is collagen?

A9. Collagen is a fibrous protein, found in connective tissue in the body which supports the skin, muscles and bones. It is a strong form of protein which works in conjunction with elastin to give the skin its strength, tone and flexibility. It also provides the skin with durability although this starts to break down over time as part of the ageing process.

It is this reduction in collagen in our skins which leads to the formation of lines, wrinkles and other reminders of growing old.
