Q12. What is contact lens aftercare?

A12. This term refers to check ups, cleaning routine and duration of use for contact lenses. If you want to get the best from your contact lens then ensure that you follow the advice given. Plus don’t forget to attend any check ups and/or eye tests as these are vital for your eye health.

Your optician will want to check the condition of your eyes as well as seeing if there have been any changes to your vision. Your eyesight may have deteriorated slightly over a period of time –for example, your short sightedness is worse then before which may mean new lenses to accommodate this.

You also need to check your eyes each time you wear your lenses in order to check for any problems. If you your eyes are red, itchy or sore and you have blurred vision then speak to your optician.
