What is the recovery process for liposelection procedure?

You can expect some mild discomfort and soreness after this procedure but this will ease after a week. You will have to wear a special compression garment for that week. This MUST be worn all the time and every day of that week.

After this first week you will have to attend a follow up visit at the clinic or hospital where this will be removed along with any stitches and bandages.

The difference between this and other fat removal procedures is the vastly reduced recovery time. Rather than having to take a couple of weeks off work you are looking at going back the very next day. If not then you will be able to return after just a few days.

You will be able to go back to exercising after a week but take it easy to start with.

In a nutshell, you are looking at just a few days to recover rather than a number of weeks.

Your recovery should be trouble free but contact your surgeon if you notice any of the following symptoms:

  • Infection
  • Poor wound healing
  • Bleeding
  • Sudden, sharp pain
  • Unusual or rapid heartbeats
  • Chest pains, shortness of breath
