Who is not suitable for facelift surgery (rhytidectomy)?

As this surgery is mainly undertaken to lift and reposition sagging skin then it is unlikely to be performed on a younger person. It is usually performed on middle aged and older patients.

So, you are unlikely to choose this surgery if you are in your twenties or thirties!

However, if you are under the age of 40 and do notice that the skin around your face or neck is loose and has a ‘crepey’ appearance then you could consider having a facelift. Your suitability for this surgery will be decided by your surgeon.
